Pet Sitter/Dog Walker

Like working independently? Just you, music or an audio book, and some sweet pets? Good, So do we!
If you're the kind of person who likes knowing what's expected, getting the information you need, and then being trusted to handle your work without someone standing over your shoulder, keep reading.
Wonder Pups Pet Care is a locally owned, award-winning pet sitting and dog walking company in Crestview, Florida. We're looking for another dependable person to join our Wonder Team.
This isn't a traditional shift job, and it definitely isn't sitting on someone's couch watching their dog sleep.
You'll spend your workday driving between clients' homes, managing your own route, following detailed care instructions, noticing when something isn't quite right, and making sure every pet and home is safe before you leave.
We provide the training, systems, schedule, and support.
Then we trust you to do your job.
🐾 A Day in the Life
One visit might be an enthusiastic Labrador who thinks your arrival is the greatest event of his entire week. The next could be a suspicious cat who needs medication and would prefer that you respect her personal space.
You'll let yourself into clients' homes, read their care instructions, feed and exercise pets, give medications when needed, clean up the inevitable messes, and send detailed photo-filled updates through our app.
Most importantly, you'll be the person responsible for that household while you're there.
That means noticing the water bowl that's nearly empty. Double-checking the door actually latched. Realizing a pet isn't behaving normally. Reading the instructions instead of assuming you remember them.
Nobody will be standing beside you reminding you what comes next.
That's the point.
🐾 You Might Be Our Person If...
You like working independently, but you also understand that independent doesn't mean "do it however I want."
You can follow someone else's instructions even when they're different from how you'd do things at home.
You communicate when something goes wrong instead of hoping nobody notices.
You can accept feedback, adjust, and move on without taking correction personally.
You manage your own time well.
And when nobody is watching, you still do the job correctly.
We don't expect you to already know our systems. That's what training is for. We do expect you to care about learning them.
🐕 What You'll Actually Do
Visit pets in their own homes throughout Crestview
Feed, water, exercise, and medicate pets as instructed
Walk dogs and clean up after pets, including litter boxes and accidents
Follow detailed household-specific care instructions
Send thoughtful, photo-filled visit updates through our app
Notice and communicate changes in a pet's health or behavior
Keep clients' homes secure
Manage your assigned visits and travel time independently
Communicate with the Wonder Team when you need help or something doesn't look right
🐾 What You'll Need
High school diploma or GED
A clean background check
A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
A smartphone with an active data plan
Strong time-management and communication skills
The ability to work independently while following detailed instructions
The ability to accept feedback and learn established systems
Compassion for nervous, senior, and special-needs pets
Confidence around pets of all sizes and personalities, including dogs who may greet you with loud barking, jumping, nervousness, hiding, or other less than perfect manners
The physical ability to walk, bend, reach, climb stairs, and lift at least 15 lbs
Reliable availability four days each week during breakfast, dinner, and bedtime visit windows, including weekends and major holidays.
🕐 How the Schedule Actually Works
This is an hourly, part-time position, but it isn't one continuous shift.
Our schedule follows our clients' travel and work schedules. On your assigned days, visits may fall during our breakfast, dinner, and bedtime windows, with midday visits added as needed. You may work more than one visit window on the same day, with time between them.
Because people travel when they're off work, weekends and major holidays are an important part of this job.
💰 The Pay
Most Wonder Team members can earn around $200 to $300 or more per week or more, plus tips, part time, depending on availability and client demand.
Previous professional pet-care experience isn't required. We'll train the right person.
What matters much more to us is whether you're dependable, observant, comfortable making decisions, willing to learn, and capable of managing yourself once you've been trained.
🐾 Sound Like Your Kind of Work?
Our hiring process moves quickly, and communication is part of what we're evaluating from the beginning. You'll hear from us throughout the process via email, and we'll need timely responses from you too.
If you'd rather be trusted with real responsibility than spend your day waiting for someone to tell you what to do next, we'd like to meet you.
Quit pawsing around and apply today. 🐾
